Every now and again you get the opportunity to help out your fellow photographers and I had the opportunity to do just that for my fellow photographer and friend Julie Fraser of Julie Fraser Photography in Caithness. She asked me to 2nd shoot for her at a wedding at Buncrew House Hotel and I was delighted to be able to help out.
At the rehearsal on the eve of the wedding there were some concerns about the weather and at that point it looked like the whole event would have to take place indoors with a forecast of wind and rain due to arrive right at the time the ceremony was due to start. What a shame that would be at such a beautiful location. However, the weather moved away during the morning, with only a few spits of rain making a brief appearance. By the time the ceremony was due to start we had blue skies with lovely white wispy clouds and a pleasantly warm temperature and Steph was able to fulfil her dream of an outdoor wedding underneath the wishing tree.
The day went well with lots of laughter and smiles and the weather continuing to play nice, ending up with a gorgeous sunset. It’s always an honour and a pleasure to be a part of someone’s special day, and even as a 2nd shooter, this was no different.
