I like helping others and it’s always a privilege to be asked to help another photographer at a wedding. As the 2nd photographer at a wedding you get to take some of the photographs that you wouldn’t normally be able to do as the principle photographer. My good friend Julie from Julie Fraser Photography runs a very successful photography business in Caithness and had asked if I could help her out with one of her weddings. No problem, so I set off early that morning to drive the two and a half hours that it would take to get to Thurso.
Although I passed through some heavy showers on the drive up, I arrived to sunshine and lovely white puffy clouds. After a quick hello with Julie, I headed off to meet up with the groom and his party to take some photographs. I have to say that they were all very laid back and were enjoying the morning. I couldn’t help wondering if Katie, the bride, was just as relaxed. We did some photographs in and outside and then headed off to the brides house. As it turned out, the beautiful Katie and her bridesmaids were almost as relaxed and enjoying the day.
The ceremony was held at Thurso West Church of Scotland which included some music and singing from the couples fellow musicians…a lovely personal touch. After the ceremony we went back to the brides house to take the family photographs and it was here that we met the cutest little puppy, decked out in a matching tie. Much ooohing and awwwing was heard.
Thank you to Katie and Alan, and to Julie, for letting me be a part of your special day.
